NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER GENEVA: TWO PHOTO SHOOTS FOR THE SAME FAMILY

Newborn photographer in Geneva, I take photos of babies during their first months of life. I did these two shoots for the same family, when Arya was born and when Alexandre was born, two years later. The photo session always starts with the photos with the siblings and continues with the portraits of the baby in different poses and several containers. The baby is often asleep and laid comfortably on several layers of blankets and furs. I work with a studio flash, but the baby’s eyes are protected from direct flash light.

I do photo shoots at home or in my home studio and I only use props suitable for newborns. I have different backgrounds, fabrics, hats, headbands, baskets and blankets. Soft fabrics and blankets: soft fabrics and blankets can be used to create interesting backgrounds and textures in images. They can also be used to wrap the baby or lay him on them. Hats and headbands: hats and headbands can be used to add pops of color and style to the shoot. They can be matched with the colors of the baby’s room or other accessories. Baskets and containers: baskets and containers can be used to pose the baby and create unique and interesting images. They can be filled with soft blankets or fabrics to create a cozy environment for the baby. Posing beanbag: a posing beanbag is an inflatable accessory that allows the baby to be placed in different comfortable and safe positions. It is often used as a base for the newborn posing session.

It is essential to plan a photo session in the first days after the birth of your baby, this is when he still maintains the fetal position and sleeps a lot. The duration of the session is usually around 3 hours but can also go up to 4 hours, depending on the rhythms of the baby. It will indeed take all the time necessary to breastfeed, change and put him to sleep.
